Washington Library Snapshot Day 2011

Special libraries are invited to participate in Washington Library Snapshot Day.

On April 12, 2011, hundreds of libraries throughout Washington State will join in the ALA's "Library Snapshot Day" effort.

It's a great way to share a glimpse of a day in the life your library while joining others across the Evergreen State.

How can you participate in Snapshot Day:
  • Fill out a brief survey on April 12, 2011
  • Collect testimonials from your library users
  • Snap photos and share them to the Flickr account page (coming soon)
  • Issue a press release about your library's activities
  • Use quotes and comments from your annual report to share your library's unique value
  • Pick one of 20 participation suggestions from ALA

About the presentation:
Ms. Jamie Muskopf will present a leadership-focused perspective of Knowledge Management that will highlight the key motivators and success factors for establishing a knowledge management function in any organization. She will explore knowledge management as an enabler of effective leadership and a necessary companion to any technology initiative, examine the role of the "Knowledge Manager" (what they do and what they do NOT do), highlight specific examples of how leaders can use KM professionals to support mission accomplishment, and demonstrate how to calculate project based return on investment for knowledge management activities.
